The Lake Alpine Nordic Ski Patrol patrols approximately 35 km of non-groomed backcountry ski trails in the Stanislaus National Forest. Our trails are accessed via the Lake Alpine and Spicer Snow Parks, and include a variety of terrain for all abilities. Depending on the snow conditions, we patrol every weekend during the winter season and some mid-week days during school vacations.
Our mission is to serve the Winter Recreation user by providing:
- Emergency First Aid.
- Winter Safety and Education Info
- Trail Maps and Directions.
- Marked and Maintained Ski Trails.
- Assistance to SAR and EMS Primary Responders.
- Emergency Ski Repair.
Patrollers carry a forest service radio and a patrol pack with personal and patient emergency equipment sufficient to provide safety, comfort, emergency ski repairs, and needed first aid. Patrollers also carry equipment to provide for emergency shelters to protect patient and patroller alike in hostile weather.
The Lake Alpine Nordic Ski Patrol is a registered member of the National Ski Patrol, and patrols under a volunteer agreement for the U.S. Forest Service. |
