Soda Springs Ski Patrol

Since the construction of the first ropetow on Donner Summit there in 1935, Soda Spring Ski Area has beckoned skiers of all types and abilities. It is steeped in tradition and history. Following a continued decline in business, the resort closed during the 1979-1980 season, when it was acquired by the parent company of a neighboring resort. With the addition of extensive sledding and tubing runs in the late 1990's, and the construction of the terrain features cherished by snowboarders, the emphasis of the resort continues to be skill development and fun.

The area hosts an extensive ski school for beginners, as well as providing challenging runs for youth racing teams, such as the Truckee-based Buddy Warner ski club, Edelweiss ski team, and UC Berkeley ski team.

A synopsis of the area's unique services, location, and appeal has been chronicled in a November 2001 article in Ski Magazine entitled: "Little Gem: A Little Legend" .

Indeed, Soda Spring Winter Resort is undergoing a renaissance today, in which the Soda Spring National Ski Patrol is proud to share. We are a small patrol, and close-knit group who welcome individuals who can make our 12 day commitment. Interested candidates should visit our website at www.ssnsp.org
