Program

Welcome to the Mother Lode Region's Women's Program

The MLR Women’s Program provides women patrollers with improvement in their practice, a like-minded community of growth, a support network, and leadership enhancement. We host women-centered events that focus on toboggan-handling skills and ski enhancement. We encourage anyone interested to attend--active patrollers, alumni, and candidates. Check out the schedule for event specifics.

2024-2025 Season Events:

Brush The Dust Off

The Women’s Program Advisors from MLR and ESR regions invites you to join us for a FREE early season "Brush the Dust Off" clinic at Soda Springs Ski Resort for enhancing your toboggan handling and teaching skills.

Joining us for her west coast debut with the Sisterhood of the Traveling Toboggan will be Tracy Buchanan, the Central Division Outdoor Emergency Transportation (OET) Supervisor from Ohio and a PSIA Level 3 ski instructor. Tracy travels nationwide with her signature pink toboggan and coaches toboggan instructors so this is an exciting opportunity for any toboggan instructor who would like to improve their teaching skills or any women interested in becoming a toboggan instructor. Ski Enhancement sessions will be offered by Heidi Ettlinger, PSIA National Alpine Team Alumna, and longtime clinician for NSP’s women’s programming.

In this supportive environment, watch the summer rust fall away as you brush up on your toboggan handling skills and gain new experience running a 4-handled toboggan. Soda Springs Ski Resort is providing us space to gather, tickets, toboggans, and discounted lunches to purchase (or bring your own lunch).

The day will conclude with a presentation from Truckee's Start Haus about proper boot fitting, buckling and how correct fitting equipment impacts our ski performance. Please bring a beverage and a refreshment to share as we unwind from the day.
